The Faroe Islands are situated in the North Atlantic, 602 km westward of Norway and 310 km northeast of Scotland. It takes approximately 1 hour to fly to Aberdeen in Scotland, 2 hours to Copenhagen in Denmark, 2 hours to London, 1 hour 15 mins to Iceland and 1 hour 45 mins to Oslo in Norway.

There are 18 islands in the Faroes and 17 of them are inhabited.
